The Book “Dirāyat ‘Ulūm Matn al-Hadith” deals with the topics of Sciences of Hadith related to the Text of Hadith, in terms of understanding its wordings and clarifying its meaning. These topics are as follows: “Gharīb al-Hadith” Ambiguous Words in Hadiths, “Mukhtalif al-Hadith” Seemingly Contradicting Hadiths, Mushkil al-Hadith” Problematic Hadiths, “Muḥkam al-Hadith” Solid Hadiths, “Al-Mutasāhbih” Ambiguous Hadiths, “al-Nāsikh wa al-Mansūkh”, Abrogating and Abrogated Hadiths, “Asbab Wurūd al-Hadith” Reasons for Hadiths’ Occurrence, and “Sharḥ al-Hadith” Explanation of Hadith. The book aims at pointing out the great interest of Hadith’s scholars in texts of the noble hadiths, and that their study of hadiths is covering chain and text of transmission, and not limited to studying chains of transmissions to determine their authenticity, or studying some issues related to both the chain and the text of hadiths, but rather they include several topics that are related to texts of hadiths in particular.
