Muhammad Asad (1900-1992) is one of the most prominent Muslim scholars in the 20th century. His writings cover a wide range of subjects from the discipline of political thoughts to religious issues. His writings have gained appreciation of a number of scholars. But to date no major studies conducted on the methodology of his tafsir work The Message of the Qur’an. The Methodology of Muhammad Asad in his Tafsir context of its total message. This research seeks to study Muhammad Asad’s translation and explanation of the Qur’an objectively with a critical overtones.
