This book explores patterns of international trade against the background of changes and transformations in the manufacturing labour market for the period 1983 to 2000. The trade aspects considered include trade flows, trade structure (intra-industry trade, nature of intra-industry trade and quality of vertically differentiated goods) and trade protection whilst labour market changes are examined via employment and wages in absolute and relative terms.
